Worth It: Tanks

August 6, 2014

Here is something about me. I can’t wear sleeves. At least not if it’s above 80 degrees. I have friends who pull off the sleek skinny jeans with a tee look even during our scalding desert summers, but I can’t do it. I can’t even pull off a cap sleeve. I need bare pits and shoulders to sweat it all out. My upper arm area cannot be covered or stifled while the sun beats down. I’ve been like this since high school when I convinced the whole tennis team we must have tanks instead of t-shirts during my senior year.

Therefore, new tanks were a necessity this summer. As I explained in my dresses post, I needed to revamp my summer wardrobe this year after being hugely pregnant all last summer. And let’s be honest, you can only wear a cotton tank so many time in 110 degrees before it’s time to trade it in for a new one. So this summer I traded in all my old, dingy tanks for new ones. Hallelujah!

Sleeveless Henley
 – Love this! I just ordered it in a second color.

Sunwashed Tank – So comfy.
Lace Trim Peasant Tank – This is what I’m wearing above. Comfy, cute, feminine.
Mixed Stripe Racer Back – Now that I’m almost done nursing, I’m embracing the racer back!
Mesh Front Sleeveless Tee – Dresses up or down easily.
Linen Tank – Super cute and nice texture. Must be careful when washing!
Indigo Striped Tank – I love the Lou and Grey line!

I live in Minnesota and tanks are actually one of my favorite pieces of clothing because in the winter, I can just layer them with cardigans and sweaters! Love all of these!

Hi. I’m Jen Russum and this blog is where I’ve been sharing narratives of God’s grace for more than a decade now. Some might say “blogs are dead” but I’m waiting for them to come back around like mom jeans and 90s flannel. I enjoy my coffee iced, my summers hot, and my dinner parties long with lots of laughter. I process all of life’s deepest, darkest, and happiest moments by writing essays in my head. When I have the time, some of these essays get typed up and shared here. I’ve always loved to write, and I hope my words bring you joy and encouragement.
