Washington: A Wedding

August 20, 2012

Wow. Where do I even begin? I’ve been in Washington {both western and eastern halves} or in the middle of nowhere driving between Washington and Arizona for the past two weeks.

It was fun. It was joyful. It was full  of adventure. Now I am back and am completely overwhelmed at the thought of school starting this week…

But let’s not go there.

Instead, let’s go back and look at fun pictures of my trip instead of thinking about that syllabus that really needs to be written for my fall classes. I guess I will start with the wedding since that’s the official reason we went to Washington in the first place.

Micah’s little brother got married. To one of my favorite girls on the planet. New sister. I am very happy about this. I will let the pictures do the rest of the talking…

Picking out flowers at Pike Place Market with the bride. So cheap! The bridesmaids bouquets were $4 each!

In case you were wondering what I look like after I’ve gone running twice and haven’t washed my hair in three days…

The final selection…

Last night as a single woman…

That’s my new sister! 🙂

Beautiful wedding, and what a fun idea with the lemons! Josh and I got all of our wedding flowers from Pike Place Market, too – SO CHEAP, but such great quality! My bouquet was $10, the bridesmaids were $5, and we got the rest of the flowers (there were a ton) for maybe $100 total. I don't know why more people don't do this!

Oh and one more thing, props to your new sister for picking out the prettiest (and most practical) bridesmaid dresses I've ever seen. A lot of times you see these taffeta monstrosities and the bride says, "Oh you can wear these again," but no… you really can't. Yours, on the other hand, is stunning and I would personally wear it 24/7 if I could.

I just had a can of soda. Sorry for the wordiness. I get chatty when I have caffeine. 🙂 Glad you made it back to AZ safely!

Hi. I’m Jen Russum and this blog is where I’ve been sharing narratives of God’s grace for more than a decade now. Some might say “blogs are dead” but I’m waiting for them to come back around like mom jeans and 90s flannel. I enjoy my coffee iced, my summers hot, and my dinner parties long with lots of laughter. I process all of life’s deepest, darkest, and happiest moments by writing essays in my head. When I have the time, some of these essays get typed up and shared here. I’ve always loved to write, and I hope my words bring you joy and encouragement.
