Keyword Analysis {#1}

Keyword Analysis {#1}

November 3, 2011

Do you ever look at the "keyword analysis" for your blog? Basically, it's the words people are typing into a search engine that end up leading them to your page. Most of the time my top keywords will be "Jen Russum's blog" or "Arizona Russums" or the like. Yaya! That means people are intentionally trying to find my blog, which is always fun. However, sometimes the keywords that lead people to my blog are pretty hilarious. Here are some of my recent faves... "Dress over jeans" Although Micah hated this look when I wore it, I promised him all my blog friends would love it. Looks like I was right... "31 days to a perfect wardrobe" Ha! If only I could claim the PERFECT wardrobe. I hope they weren't too disappointed... {For example, here is the outfit I wore camping this weekend. I got made fun of...even by fellow scrubby campers.} "Gray and yellow wedding" Hmmm...I should probably finish up that series, right? "I want a new purse" Really? So do I. Still looking for exactly the right one.        "CONTENTMENT OF WHAT GOD HAS GIVEN TO US" Yes, indeed, that is a main theme around here. The grammar is slightly off but the heart seems to be in the right place. "Runner in Arizona having breathing problems" Welcome to my life. Is it the desert climate or anxiety? We just might never know. Maybe we should form a support group. And finally... "ttyl, cuz i'm driving russums" Huh? Are you driving to me? Or are you driving me around? Where are we going? And while we are at it, who are you? My mom taught me not to get in the car with strangers. P.S. I'm guest posting over at Rags to Stitches Boutique today! Come visit me over there! xoxo, Jen ... Design Time: Big Clocks

Design Time: Big Clocks

November 1, 2011

Do you guys know I have thing for GIANT clocks? I desperately want a huge clock to hang in my kitchen someday. Maybe after we move in a few weeks, I can save up to go clock shopping. Here are some of my inspirations so far...   {Urban Home} {Boutique in San Clemente, CA - name unknown} {Crate and Barrel} {source} {source} {source} Do you like clocks? Big or small? Where would you hang yours? I am still leaning toward the kitchen, but that giant living room clock and the one hanging by the stairs are pretty hard to beat! Love you, friends! xoxo, Jen Linking up with Yes, Teacher Crafts, Lollipops, and The Vintage Apple! ... Read more

Hello Monday

Hello Monday

October 31, 2011

Hello camping with friends all weekend. Hello sleeping under the stars with my love. Hello Mogollon Rim. {Who said Arizona isn't beautiful?} Hello s'mores. Way too many s'mores. Hello Nutella/Banana, Reeces, Ritz cracker, Rolo s'mores. {Did I ever tell you I am a s'more fanatic?} Hello pretty fire that kept me warm at night. Hello hiking around the woods. Hello pretty lake. Hello boys who are just slightly obsessed with chopping wood and building fires. Hello personal lesson is wielding an ax. Hello playing catch and frisbee and cards all day long. Hello tiny patches of snow left over from last winter {it's true!} and freezing toes. Hello beautiful sunset. {And hello little moon up there in the corner.} Hello warm coffee in the morning and hot cider in the afternoon. Hello cute husband. Hello new yearly tradition with Arizona friends. {AND hello caffeine. I will need you to keep me awake today after staying up late to finish a paper....} xoxo, Jen ... Read more

Hi. I’m Jen Russum and this blog is where I’ve been sharing narratives of God’s grace for more than a decade now. Some might say “blogs are dead” but I’m waiting for them to come back around like mom jeans and 90s flannel. I enjoy my coffee iced, my summers hot, and my dinner parties long with lots of laughter. I process all of life’s deepest, darkest, and happiest moments by writing essays in my head. When I have the time, some of these essays get typed up and shared here. I’ve always loved to write, and I hope my words bring you joy and encouragement.
