It’s time…

April 18, 2012

I was just cleaning out the picture folders on my computer and realized I never posted all the winter outfit pics I took. But let’s be honest…. it’s very much spring-verging-on-summer around here {supposed to be in upper 90s this week} and I am not going to see my sweaters and dress pants for a good seven or eight months.

It’s full on dress season.

I love wearing dresses, but after living in the dessert for almost two years now, I know to stretch my winter clothes for as long as I can because we live in summer temps for about 2/3 of the year here. So when it’s late March, and it’s 79 degrees outside and you see one cloud in the sky, you convince yourself it’s still winter and wear a jacket with a scarf… because, hey, it’s not 80 degrees and there IS that one cloud in the blue sky…

But, finally, one day you give up. You admit that summer is here. It’s time for sandals and dresses and burning your buns and hands when you get into your 120 degree car basking in the parking lot. The time has come…

And I love it.

Suuuuper cute dress! I love the fun colors 🙂 I have sooo many dresses, but found myself hating my pale legs in the Spring so I usually hold off until winter lol!

Oh, I'm so jealous of your little dress – so cute! And we had dress wearing weather for awhile, but it seems to have disappeared here in MN.:(

Living on the East Coast of Canada we sort of have the opposite problem. We try to convince ourselves that goosebumps and shivering are totally ok in order to be able to wear summer/spring clothes for at least 1/3 of the year!

Just stopping by from the pleated poppy. I like the outfit and think the post is great. I feel the opposite about the weather where I live. We are always trying to wear shorts even though it is barely 60 outside. I would love it if you linked this up at my fashion party, http://www.watchoutforthewoestmans.blogspot.com/2012/04/yellow-buisnesslike.html

    have a great day,

Hi. I’m Jen Russum and this blog is where I’ve been sharing narratives of God’s grace for more than a decade now. Some might say “blogs are dead” but I’m waiting for them to come back around like mom jeans and 90s flannel. I enjoy my coffee iced, my summers hot, and my dinner parties long with lots of laughter. I process all of life’s deepest, darkest, and happiest moments by writing essays in my head. When I have the time, some of these essays get typed up and shared here. I’ve always loved to write, and I hope my words bring you joy and encouragement.
