How I used the ‘1 second everyday’ app to make a family video

January 9, 2017

In 2016, I started using an app called “1 second everyday” to record our year in video. The goal of the app is to record a one second clip every single day. As a busy mom, I didn’t even attempt to take a video every single day of the year, but I knew I would naturally take enough videos to make the project work.  The result of my “taking videos often enough” throughout the year is the coolest 4 minute video of our family. I love it.

Most of my videos were just normal footage I take of the girls and their antics all time, but the project did inspire me to stop every now and then a take a short video of the scenery outside or around the house… slightly more artistic footage than toddlers yelling and dancing. I highly recommend this app. I am planning to do this project again in 2017, and I would love for you to join me!

This is seriously the cutest thing ever!! Thanks so much for sharing I’m totally gonna be doing this. 🙂

Hi. I’m Jen Russum and this blog is where I’ve been sharing narratives of God’s grace for more than a decade now. Some might say “blogs are dead” but I’m waiting for them to come back around like mom jeans and 90s flannel. I enjoy my coffee iced, my summers hot, and my dinner parties long with lots of laughter. I process all of life’s deepest, darkest, and happiest moments by writing essays in my head. When I have the time, some of these essays get typed up and shared here. I’ve always loved to write, and I hope my words bring you joy and encouragement.
